Before anyone says anything, I would like to say that “No”, I am not an Iron Man fanatic nor am I recommending the book because of the upcoming movie this week. But this is a graphic novel that I would recommend even to the non-comic fan.

On Saturday April 19th, 2008, I attended my first Comic Book convention in New York. On my adventure I began noting some of the things I enjoyed and not enjoyed through it. With these notes, I created a list detailing how to get the best out of a Comic Book convention. This is aimed mainly at newcomers, but if there are more that should be posted, feel free to comment on them.

Pictures are on the way.

Iron Man and Wolverine come to Nickelodeon

Comics, Marvel, Movies, TV | Posted by Nercm
Mar 18 2008

Nickelodeon has reported that it will be developing two new animated series featuring Iron Man and Wolverine. We should expect these to be a total rewrite of the heroes we all know and grew up with. But with the right people involved (writers, animators, voice actors etc.), we could see something spectacular. Each will feature 26 episodes. Here are the synopsis for the series below.

“Wolverine and the X-Men (26 half-hour eps):
The story begins as an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, Professor X. The beaten heroes, including Beast, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, walk away from it all but then they are given a rare glimpse into the future, where they see a world in utter ruin … ruled by giant destructive robots. They discover the world has spiraled out of control because the X-Men have given up. So now the most legendary of all X-Men, Wolverine, must take the lead on the ultimate mission — to prevent the world’s destruction — while fending off enemies Magneto and The Brotherhood. “

“Iron Man: The Animated Series (26 half-hour eps):
Tony Stark, heir to a billion-dollar corporation, lives a life of luxury, free to pursue his chief interests — seeking extreme thrills, solving scientific mysteries and creating mind-boggling inventions. But everything goes horribly wrong when a tragic accident robs Tony of his father and nearly costs him his own life. Now dependent on his own impressive technology for survival and dedicated to battling corruption, Tony must reconcile the pressure of teenage life with the duties of a Super Hero. Inside his remarkable invention, Tony Stark is geared for high-speed flight, high-tech battles and high-octane adventure! He is Iron Man.”

Ed Norton Vs Marvel (who will win?)

Marvel, Marvel Comics, Movies | Posted by Nercm
Mar 16 2008

It appears that the star of the upcoming movie “The Incredible Hulk” is reportedly in disagreement about the final edits on the final version of the movie. According to Deadline Hollywood Daily,  Marvel Studios Inc, is currently not accepting any of his opinions/ suggestions.  Ed Norton has been known to clash with directors in his past films, most notably American History X. The end of that story was that the Director was fired, and his version was used for it’s theatrical release.

So what does this mean? Who knows.  But one thing is for sure, it will be only the fans that either wins or loses.
